If you are living with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on dialysis — or are caring for a loved one who is — you may have worked with your renal care team to set personal guidelines for getting the right amount of nutrients from the foods you eat, along with fluids you drink. KidneyAPPetite™ is a FREE app designed to help you track nutrients and fluids each day.
DAILY SUMMARY
Daily Summary gives you a quick view of your daily intake for six key nutritional values that are important for patients with CKD on dialysis: phosphorus, calcium, potassium, sodium, protein, and fluids. You also have the option to track your daily intake of carbohydrates and calories.
FOOD DIARY
Your Food Diary makes it easy to record the nutritional values for every snack and meal you eat. Browse the list of Kidney-Friendly Foods* for examples of food choices low in phosphorus, potassium and sodium when in the appropriate serving size. Search for a food item or scroll through Food Categories to find your meal’s nutritional values as provided by the USDA national nutrient database. You can add Custom Foods by entering the nutritional values found on each food item’s packaging. And the Recent Meals option makes it easy to update your meal with foods you eat frequently: just select the item from the 50 meals you’ve most recently eaten.
*These foods have not been designated by the USDA as Kidney-Friendly.
